It was as if up until now, youd spend your entire life in a haze; looking through a frosted pane of glass, or a filmy coffee filter, or staring directly at the sun. Now that shes gone, theres a sour taste in your mouth from which your tongue curls in disgust, an itch deep beneath your skin. Your scalp hums, your fingers tingle, your teeth ache. Everything, its all sharp. The world flashes by in serrated sections, splashes of colour, stolen moments. Sharp. The moments bleed, clotting to become hours, days.
